Happenings

So Lex went to the Dr a little late for his 12 month check up, but here are his stats:

Weight: 23 Lbs 6 oz
Height: 28 I think? (it might be 29 i'll have to check when i get home)

He did ok with the shots he got :(

He has been feeling under the weather the past week or so...took him to the dr and he just has a stomach bug...so we're working that out of his system

We also took Lex to get his first haircut on friday so i will be posting pictures soon!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Happy 1st Birthday to Lex! It's been a great year...we love you bunches!
Lex goes to the Dr next week for his check up, but he's working on tooth number 7 and 8, and walking more and more every day :)
I feel like I need to dialog what happened when Lex was born so that I can remember it, and for those who haven't heard the story you will know how Lex decided to come in to the world :)

My official due date was Feb 12th, 2009. They had told me from the beginning that I was prone to early labor and a breech baby, so probably would have to have a c-section. If I went into labor anywhere after 35 weeks they would just do the c-section then, but if I made it close to my due date I could schedule my appointment. There was a little confusion with my dr office, because there are 4 drs that work there, and I had seen all of them at one point or another during the course of my pregnancy. Well, we originally wanted to make the appointment for the week prior to my due date because Chris has districts/states around that time in Feb. So we tried to make an appointment, i didn't really care what dr did it, i only cared about the day...so we had some issues but finally got scheduled for Tuesday Feb 10th. My last day of work was Friday Feb 6th, and I was looking forward to having a day to relax before going to the hospital.
My parents were down that weekend, because seeing as the next weekend was valentine's day, my mom was going to be busy at the florist. They came down and left on the 8th...and chris's mom came down on the 8th and was planning on staying for the week. Sunday I went to our friend Melissa's church for the dedication of their son Tristan. I was feeling fine, no pain or issues. Went to sleep that night and woke up probably around 3ish with cramps. I went downstairs so that i didn't wake chris up, to see if they would go away. I didn't think they were contractions because they were not in a regular pattern and my water hadn't broken or anything. I watched some tv, took a bath and about an hr later work chris up. I asked him what he wanted to do...and he said we should probably go to the hospital. So we woke up his mom and told her what was going on, gathered some things and went to the hospital. We went up to labor and delivery, they checked me out and hooked me up to some monitors. I found out i was 5 cm dilated already, so they said they were going to go ahead with the c-section ASAP. so i was poked and prodded, chris made a bunch of phone calls, i got my epidural and was wheeled into the operating room. Chris came in shortly after looking like a space man :) The only really clear thing i remember is how much my upper back and shoulders hurt from laying on the table. The anesthesiologist was great...he was so nice. We weren't in the operating room very long when Lex was born at 6:37 am 8 lbs 1 oz, 21 (i think?) inches long. he really didn't cry which kind of worried us...but I think that was just a reflection of his personality. He is a very laid back kid :) They passed him to chris who i guess went to the nursery while i was put back together and had to go to the recovery room for an hr.
When I got out of recovery and was wheeled down to my room the first person I saw was Lori Gay :) She always said she wanted to be in the delivery room...sorry about that one Lori :) After that the days went pretty fast (although sleeping was rough not being able to sleep on my side :( ) and we were actually allowed to go home a day early.
